New faces are jumping into the Discord. Artwork is being algorithmically generated. Sales bots are malfunctioning. And the team’s caffeine levels just hit an ATH.

But perhaps you’ve never heard of Raptor City.

Let’s introduce ourselves, shall we?

Welcome to Raptor City 🌆

Raptor City is a new NFT brand taking streetwear and storytelling into the metaverse.

It was imagined by a team of creatives who dreamt of a place where art, fashion, storytelling, music, gaming and community could all come together in one place. A treasure trove for right-clickers who want cool stuff for free, and a secret club for holders who want to support independent artists, take part in our story, and gain access to exclusive perks. It’s also an artists’ collective: we encourage our holders to become our collaborators by providing them with a monthly pop-up marketplace to sell their work.

Our flagship collection is Raptor City Rascals. The Rascals collection is made from over 160 assets, hand-drawn by NFT superstar FATBABY, randomly combined to create avatars of varying rarity. And if the rumours are true, the Rascals are launching a take over of Raptor City…

So, that’s the vision. But how are we going to deliver it? Introducing…

Raptor City Projects

Each of these Projects deserves a roadmap of their own, but let’s start with a brief introduction. You’ll find regular updates on their progress right here on Medium, and we humbly invite you to join our Discord and contribute to the conversation there.

Raptor City merchandise

Raptor City apparel is already in development: our designers have partnered with carefully-chosen clothing brands to deliver only the highest quality clothing and designs. Our collection will include enticing options available to all, as well as exclusive items for holders that use the power of NFTs to bridge the gap between IRL streetwear and the metaverse.

Raptor City Black Market

Holding a Raptor City NFT provides access to the Black Market: a monthly pop-up shop offering everything from free mints and POAPs to limited-edition 1/1s and physical merchandise. In partnership with other creators, we hope to expand our offering to include a full range of media and merchandise exclusively available to our holders.

But there’s a catch: the Black Market will only open for 72 hours each month, and once it closes, unsold items will be gone for good…

Raptor City Turf Wars

Storytelling is central to every aspect of our work. We want our holders to play an active role in the stories we tell. After launch, we will be giving holders the opportunity to join one of three gangs based in one of the three major districts of Raptor City: Brighthelm Bay, Seven Swords, and The Vale. In partnership with our creative team, the community will help develop the backstory, iconography and culture of these gangs.

But that’s only the beginning. During Turf Wars, the gangs of Raptor City will duke it out for control of Raptor City Plaza, unlocking exclusive airdrops for the winning gang each season…

Raptor City Stories

How many stories does a city have to tell?

Raptor City has a rich history and we look forward to telling its stories across a range of media in the near future. But we can’t do it alone. We will be inviting creatives of all kinds to collaborate with us in the creation of an expanded universe, telling stories both large and small, using the freedom afforded to us by NFTs to maximise our creativity and directly reward our collaborators.

Raptor City and the metaverse

Raptor City is a place. We want to take you there. After launch, we will be exploring ways of bringing Raptor City to life and we look forward to one day exploring the city as a fully-realised virtual space.
